Victor Methos is an amazing attorney as well as an author。 This killer thriller/legal novel is very emotional to read。 I listened to the audio and the narrator was fantastic and was able to move your emotions。 Be brave。。。read or listen to this well crafted story。All of this authors novels are compelling。 I've read them all。 I look foward to more that depict Utah where he practices law。 Victor Methos is an amazing attorney as well as an author。 This killer thriller/legal novel is very emotional to read。 I listened to the audio and the narrator was fantastic and was able to move your emotions。 Be brave。。。read or listen to this well crafted story。All of this authors novels are compelling。 I've read them all。 I look foward to more that depict Utah where he practices law。 。。。more

Totally FooledEngaging characters。 The story line moves quickly while exposing the human complexities of the characters。 I was completely unprepared for the final twist。 I feel I will be following this writer for a long time。

Crazy Ride!Victor Methos, you are a genius。 The story plot is about Arlo Ward caught for over-speeding and in turn Arlo confesses killing three teenager very brutally。 However Defense Lawyer Dylan strongly feels he's not the murderer。 The courtroom battle between Dylan and State Lawyer Kelly is something that the reader will enjoy。 Expect a twist you never see coming。 Who is the real murderer?Read to know Crazy Ride!Victor Methos, you are a genius。 The story plot is about Arlo Ward caught for over-speeding and in turn Arlo confesses killing three teenager very brutally。 However Defense Lawyer Dylan strongly feels he's not the murderer。 The courtroom battle between Dylan and State Lawyer Kelly is something that the reader will enjoy。 Expect a twist you never see coming。 Who is the real murderer?Read to know 。。。more

I have been looking forward to reading this 3rd book in the Desert Plains series and I was NOT disappointed!!! I enjoyed every page and could not stop reading because I had to know what happened next。 I definitely recommend this book to everyone and have not found a book by Victor Methos that I do not love…his style of writing is awesome!!
April Jech,
Left me book shook!! Great story and awesome characters。

Top NotchI have read many of Victor's books and this is definitely one of his best。 With so many other mystery and thriller writers evidencing creative and energy fatigue over time, this has not happened to Victor。 This is a fresh and thought provoking story, with lots of interesting legal content and surprises right up to the end。 I hope he continues his Desert Plains series。 The main characters are relatable and there seems lots of room for their relationships to develop。 Top NotchI have read many of Victor's books and this is definitely one of his best。 With so many other mystery and thriller writers evidencing creative and energy fatigue over time, this has not happened to Victor。 This is a fresh and thought provoking story, with lots of interesting legal content and surprises right up to the end。 I hope he continues his Desert Plains series。 The main characters are relatable and there seems lots of room for their relationships to develop。 。。。more

What a Book!Victor Methos can write one hell of a legal thriller! I have loved his books from the 1st one I read。 His books keep me reading until I finish。 I love to whisper sync a book, reading and listening when I can’t just read along。 The narrator did an excellent job also。 This book was not what I expected。 I loved the defense attorneys… this is a book you should not miss!

In The End ,Justice WonI am a new fan of this author and this book was my third。 His main character is always noble but unfortunately he gets emotionally involved with his client。 This at times taints his objectivity, in this book he discovers the "Unreliable Truth" 。 You need to read this book。 In The End ,Justice WonI am a new fan of this author and this book was my third。 His main character is always noble but unfortunately he gets emotionally involved with his client。 This at times taints his objectivity, in this book he discovers the "Unreliable Truth" 。 You need to read this book。 。。。more

Not up to my expectations from Victor Methos。I like this author but this book was a bit of a disappointment to me。 I was expecting a bit more of Jessica Yardley, the prominent character from the first two books but she is only mentioned briefly, so there was no continuance of her storyline。 The story here does keep you guessing though, right to the slightly unexpected ending, which, in my mind could have been better。This can be read as a stand alone novel or ignored if you want more of Jessica Y Not up to my expectations from Victor Methos。I like this author but this book was a bit of a disappointment to me。 I was expecting a bit more of Jessica Yardley, the prominent character from the first two books but she is only mentioned briefly, so there was no continuance of her storyline。 The story here does keep you guessing though, right to the slightly unexpected ending, which, in my mind could have been better。This can be read as a stand alone novel or ignored if you want more of Jessica Yardley。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Good story with a creepy little man who is the focus of this tale。 At the end it reminded me of Primal Fear staring Richard Gere。 You had to feel so sorry for his lawyer, Dylan。 What a bitter disappointment。 Such a hard truth to swallow。 It’s awful to feel that helpless, after fighting so hard, then being hit with an terrible truth。
Judi Tveten,

Krystal,
Let me begin by saying that you do not need to have read the first two books in the series in order to enjoy this one。 The first two focused more on a different character (although these two did make an appearance in book number two, you aren't missing anything in their backstory by not reading it first)。There were moments in the courtroom where I felt the story got bogged down by all of the tedious details that tend to go into those types of things。 These were scenes where I found myself losing Let me begin by saying that you do not need to have read the first two books in the series in order to enjoy this one。 The first two focused more on a different character (although these two did make an appearance in book number two, you aren't missing anything in their backstory by not reading it first)。There were moments in the courtroom where I felt the story got bogged down by all of the tedious details that tend to go into those types of things。 These were scenes where I found myself losing interest in what was otherwise an engaging story。 I also found certain aspects of the overall story to be a bit too。。。。 unbelievable。 One example of this being the fact that the prosecution would deliberately keep information from the defense team knowing that if it were found out it could be used to make them look bad in the eyes of the jury。 Also the fact that no one seemed to be able to get medical records or anything on Arlo even though he was supposed to be on medication。 Now that being said, there was a lot about this novel that I did enjoy。 I enjoyed Dylan's struggle between what he wanted vs。 what he thought was best in terms of his family life。 I also applauded his desire to stand up for his client when Arlo wanted to fight him every step of the way。 It was this story-line that I was most invested in, and honestly this story-line I was most surprised with。And when I say I didn't see the twists in this one coming? Holy cow。 Okay, I mean one I kind of thought was a possibility, but the other? I can only help but wonder if a mention of that outcome will find its way into future books or not。 In case it wasn't clear before, I do enjoy this author, and I can't wait to read more from them! DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher。 This has not affected my review in any way。 All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own。 。。。more

I couldn’t put this book down。Brilliantly written。 The writer keeps you on edge till the end。 I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good thriller。

A reliable genius 。。。Victor Methos is simply the best。 Just when you’re thinking that the hours you’re investing are hours you’ll never get back, his writing veers down an unexpected side road where flowers erupt into beauty, and cactus spines prick your complacency into grudging admiration。。。 BRAVISSIMO!

Lee Graziano,
I have to admit, I was a little disappointed in this book。 The first 2 books in this series were excellent, with multiple twists in each that I did not see coming。 This one however, was kind of boring。 I actually struggled a bit to get through it。 I’ve heard that people loved and were shocked by the ending, but I have to say, it was exactly the same ending as “Mercy” so I had a hard time being impressed。 Overall, this long awaited book just didn’t do it for me。 Not his best。
Elisa,
Legal thrillers are not my favorite genre, but I was enjoying this one。 The twist is fantastic but one of my favorite movies had already done it so I saw it coming。 The ending though, made me smile so hard it pushed this read up to 5 stars。
Rose,
Good bookI have difficulty finding thrillers or mysteries that don’t have language problems。 I was delighted to find a book that was not only intense enough to keep me engaged but lacked most offensive language。 I’ll follow this author in the future。
